If you’re not interested in crusty old command line application, and you want a familiar Mac OS GUI then you’re in for a treat. The 2.0.0 beta has been released. Download it from here. What’s new? Well, a lot has changed.
Major improvements:
- A brand new graphical UI with simple point and click options.
- Support for scheduling via TitanTV. Go to Titan’s site, click on a show, the tvpi file will download. Click on this file and it should automatically open with HDPVRCapture, confirm the details and it gets added to your iCal. Voila! Scheduled recordings, very simple.
- You don’t use titan? Try Command-N to manually add a scheduled recording
- Use your zipcode to help configure HDPVRCapture, this will download the cable/satellite networks for your area, and automatically store the channel names in HDPVRCapture, so you can pick you recording channel by name, not by number. Now you don’t have to remember that scifi is on channel 48, just select SCIFI-HD from the channel selection list.
- The Preference page let’s you enter you license key, configure Titan _AND_ has a radically new IR Blaster configuration screen. No more complicated command line options.
- Drag and drop your previous recordings into the post processing tab, right click and chose a post processing task and chose Run from the menu. I.E Simplified post processing with support for automatic addition to itunes.
- Intelligent controls in the UI. If you select a feature that is incompatible with another feature, the application automatically adjusts itself. No more complicated command line options which are hard to understand.
As always, this is a beta so your milage may vary. All comments and feedback are welcome on the AVS forum HDPVR thread.
