For one reason or another I’ve been unimpressed with the different Firewire recording applications on the Mac. Head over to AVSForum and checkout the Mac Firewire section of you’re curious.

Scanning through the age old AVCForum thread (which dates back to 2004) you can see an odd mix of applications and a host of rants and raves from the various members. It’s a lively debate. Some apps offer great hardware support but have clunky interfaces. Others have OK interfaces but only offer a small set of features. None of them integrate with TitanTV to allow you to schedule. (Geez guys, come on!)

Sigh, I’m on a quest for a decent Firewire recording app the that average human being can use. What can I do to fix this? AVCNoodle was born out of frustration. I needed an app that sits in the middle ground. Something that isn’t too technical but has enough features to keep the average ‘TV Nut’ happy and recording their shows on a regular basis.

If you’re mildy interested in recording via Firewire on your STB, and would like all of the benefits of high quality Video, checkout the feature list here and/or download a demo from the AVCNoodle product page here.

Lastly, why not join us on the AVSForum here and discuss AVCNoodle.

Love it or hate it, I’m all ears. Come along and talk to me, the developer, tell me what you hate and what you like. I’m all ears!
